The short answer

The BenQ PD3225U is a 31.5" IPS monitor at 3840x2160 and 60 Hz. Its Thunderbolt 3 input carries video and 85 W of power delivery on one cable, and a built-in KVM switch lets you switch it between computers. It suits a mini PC owner who wants a big, sharp desk display.

The monitor's 85 W power delivery will not run the mini PC.

Which mini PCs it fits

Fit comes down to video output. The monitor takes video over USB-C with Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0, so a mini PC needs one of those outputs.

The ASUS NUC 14 Pro+, Apple Mac Studio (M5 Max), BMAX MaxMini B4 Ultra and Beelink EQ14 have a matching output and fit. The BOSGAME M5 and GMKtec EVO-X3 connect too, but the monitor's 85 W power delivery will not run either machine. We have not confirmed the fit for the Beelink GTi14 Ultra and MINISFORUM AtomMan G7 Pro, because their HDMI outputs are unclear.

Checked against every mini PC sold on amazon.com, from the specifications we hold for each machine.

Before you buy

The 85 W of power delivery will not run the BOSGAME M5 or GMKtec EVO-X3, so those need their own power. Refresh is 60 Hz. BenQ does not state whether the monitor has speakers. Check the HDMI outputs on the two machines we have not confirmed.

Common questions

Can one cable power my mini PC from this monitor?

The Thunderbolt 3 port supplies 85 W of power delivery, but that will not run the BOSGAME M5 or GMKtec EVO-X3, so those machines still need their own power.

Does the BenQ PD3225U have built-in speakers?

BenQ does not state whether this monitor has speakers, so do not count on them. If you need sound, plan on separate speakers or headphones.

Can I share this monitor between two computers?

Yes, it has a built-in KVM switch, and it offers Thunderbolt 3, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 inputs to connect different machines.
