TP-Link TL-SX1008
Part numberTL-SX1008
The short answer
An unmanaged switch with 8 ports at 10GbE: the TP-Link TL-SX1008 (part number TL-SX1008) is for a mini PC owner who wants to connect several wired machines on one 10GbE network. It has no SFP+ ports and no 2.5GbE ports, so every port is a 10GbE one.

Specifications
All 8 ports are 10GbE, with no 2.5GbE ports and no SFP+ ports. The switch is unmanaged, so it offers no management features to set up. It has no PoE budget, so it does not power devices over the cable. It is not fanless, which matters if you want a silent desk.

Which mini PCs it fits
A switch reaches a mini PC through the machine's wired network port, so what decides the fit is the machine's own LAN speed against the 10GbE of this switch's 8 ports. We have not confirmed the fit for the Apple Mac Studio (M5 Max) or the BMAX MaxMini B4 Ultra, because we do not have the LAN speed of either machine. No machine is yet confirmed as fitting, fitting with a caveat or not fitting.

Before you buy
Check your mini PC's LAN speed before buying, because a machine without a 10GbE port will not use what this switch offers. The switch has no SFP+ ports, so it cannot take SFP+ modules. The maker's own page is the place to confirm details.
Common questions
Will the TL-SX1008 work with my mini PC?
It depends on your machine's LAN speed. We have not confirmed the fit for the Apple Mac Studio (M5 Max) or BMAX MaxMini B4 Ultra, whose LAN speed is not confirmed.
Is the TL-SX1008 a managed switch?
No, the TL-SX1008 is unmanaged. It has 8 10GbE ports, no SFP+ ports and no 2.5GbE ports, and it is not fanless.
Can the TL-SX1008 power devices over PoE?
No. The switch has no PoE budget, so it cannot supply power over the Ethernet cable, and powered devices need another source.
