Specifications

You get 16 GB from a single module, so it takes up one socket. It runs at 5600 MT/s with CL40 latency, and it is non-ECC memory. The part number, KF556S40IB-16, is handy for matching an order to the product you want. In the machines that fit with a caveat, the module runs at 5600 MT/s, matching its own speed.

Which mini PCs it fits

A DDR5 SODIMM module goes in a DDR5 SODIMM socket. It fits the Beelink GTi14 Ultra, GEEKOM A8 Max, GMKtec K12 and HP Z2 Mini G9. It fits the ASUS ROG NUC 16, Dell Pro Max Micro FCM2250 and HP Z2 Mini G1i with a caveat: it runs at 5600 MT/s in those machines. It does not fit the Apple Mac mini (M6), BMAX MaxMini B4 Ultra or BOSGAME M5, because their memory is soldered to the board and there is no socket. For the MINISFORUM AtomMan G7 Pro and ACEMAGIC AM08 Pro, we have not confirmed it fits.

Does not fit (13)

  • ACEMAGIC V1: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Apple Mac mini (M6): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink ME mini: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink Mini S12 Pro: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • BMAX MaxMini B4 Ultra: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • BOSGAME M5: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GEEKOM A9 Mega: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec EVO-X2: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec EVO-X3: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec NucBox G3S: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • MSI MAX Edge AI+: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • NIMO Mini PC Desktop AI Max+ 395: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.

Before you buy

Confirm that your machine has a memory socket before buying, since soldered memory cannot be swapped. For the MINISFORUM AtomMan G7 Pro, we have not confirmed its maximum memory, and for the ACEMAGIC AM08 Pro, we have not confirmed whether its memory is soldered.

Common questions

Will it work in a mini PC with soldered memory?

No. Where the memory is soldered to the board, as on the Apple Mac mini (M6), BMAX MaxMini B4 Ultra and BOSGAME M5, there is no socket to put a module in.

Is this DDR4 or DDR5?

It is DDR5 in the SODIMM format, so it needs a DDR5 SODIMM socket. It runs at 5600 MT/s with CL40 latency.

Does it have ECC?

No, it has no ECC. It is a single 16 GB DDR5 SODIMM module running at 5600 MT/s, so your machine needs a DDR5 SODIMM socket to take it.
