Part numberKF556S40IBK2-32

The short answer

Built for DDR5 SODIMM sockets, part number KF556S40IBK2-32 is a kit of 2 modules at 16 GB each, which adds up to 32 GB. It is non-ECC memory running at 5600 MT/s with CL40 latency.

Specifications

The kit totals 32 GB, split across two modules of 16 GB each. Speed is 5600 MT/s with CL40 latency, the two figures to compare against other DDR5 SODIMM kits. It is non-ECC memory, so look elsewhere if your machine needs ECC. The part number, KF556S40IBK2-32, helps you match this exact kit.

Which mini PCs it fits

A DDR5 SODIMM kit needs a DDR5 SODIMM socket, not soldered memory. The Lenovo ThinkCentre M90q Gen 5, MINISFORUM AI X1 Pro, ACEMAGIC F3A and ASUS ExpertCenter PN65 take it. With a caveat, the ASUS ROG NUC 16, Dell Pro Max Micro FCM2250 and HP Z2 Mini G1i run it at 5600 MT/s. The GMKtec G11 Plus takes DDR4, while the HP Z2 Mini G1a and Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 6 have soldered memory with no socket. We have not confirmed it fits the Beelink EQi13 or MINISFORUM AtomMan G1 Pro.

Does not fit (13)

  • ACEMAGIC V1: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Apple Mac mini (M6): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink ME mini: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink Mini S12 Pro: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • BMAX MaxMini B4 Ultra: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • BOSGAME M5: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GEEKOM A9 Mega: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec EVO-X2: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec EVO-X3: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec NucBox G3S: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • MSI MAX Edge AI+: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • NIMO Mini PC Desktop AI Max+ 395: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.

Before you buy

Check your machine's memory type, and whether the memory is soldered, before ordering. The ASUS ROG NUC 16, Dell Pro Max Micro FCM2250 and HP Z2 Mini G1i come with a caveat: they run this kit at 5600 MT/s. For the Beelink EQi13 and MINISFORUM AtomMan G1 Pro, the fit is not confirmed.

Common questions

Will this kit work in a mini PC that uses DDR4?

No. This kit is DDR5 SODIMM, so a machine that takes DDR4, like the GMKtec G11 Plus, will not accept it. Soldered-memory machines such as the HP Z2 Mini G1a have no socket either.

Is this memory ECC?

No. This kit is non-ECC memory, supplied as two 16 GB modules for 32 GB in total, running at 5600 MT/s with CL40 latency.
