Specifications

The drive holds 2 TB. It uses NVMe over PCIe 4.0, so it can use that generation's speed only in a slot that runs PCIe 4.0. The M.2 2280 format means your machine needs a slot built for that length.

No heatsink is fitted, so the drive relies on whatever cooling your machine provides around the slot.

Which mini PCs it fits

An M.2 2280 NVMe drive needs an M.2 2280 slot. It fits the MSI MAX Edge AI+, ACEMAGIC F3A, ASUS ExpertCenter PN65 and BOSGAME M5.

The Beelink EQ14, GMKtec G11 Plus and ACEMAGIC AM06 Pro take it too, but their slot runs it at PCIe 3.0 speed. The Apple Mac mini (M5 Pro), Mac mini (M6) and Mac Studio (M5 Max) have no M.2 slot, so it does not fit. We have not confirmed it fits the ACEMAGIC AM08 Pro or GMKtec NucBox M5 Plus, as their number of M.2 slots is not known.

Checked against every mini PC sold on amazon.com, from the specifications we hold for each machine.

Before you buy

Some machines run this slot at PCIe 3.0 speed, so the drive cannot use its PCIe 4.0 interface fully there. Kingston does not state the sequential read, sequential write, endurance, DRAM cache or whether the drive is single-sided.

Common questions

Does the Kingston KC3000 2TB come with a heatsink?

No. This drive has no heatsink fitted, so check whether your mini PC's M.2 slot has its own cover or cooling before you install it.

Will it run at full PCIe 4.0 speed in my mini PC?

Only if the slot itself runs PCIe 4.0. In the Beelink EQ14, GMKtec G11 Plus and ACEMAGIC AM06 Pro it still fits, but at PCIe 3.0 speed.

Can I use it in an Apple Mac mini?

No. The Apple Mac mini (M5 Pro) and Apple Mac mini (M6) have no M.2 slot, and this drive is an M.2 2280 SSD, so it cannot be installed.
