The short answer
One M.2 2280 slot holding 8 TB, with a heatsink already on the drive, is what the Samsung 9100 PRO 8TB with Heatsink offers. It is an NVMe SSD on PCIe 5.0, part number MZ-VAP8T0CW, for a mini PC owner who wants one very large, fast drive and has the slot and room for it.
Specifications
The drive holds 8 TB. Its sequential read is 14800 MB/s and its sequential write is 13400 MB/s, and those figures need a PCIe 5.0 slot to show. Endurance is 4800 TBW, the total volume of writes the drive is specified for. It has a DRAM cache. The heatsink comes fitted, so you do not need to buy one separately.

Which mini PCs it fits
It needs an M.2 2280 NVMe slot, and the heatsink makes clearance matter. The MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max fits with caveats: its slot runs the drive at PCIe 4.0 speed, and clearance needs checking. The MSI MAX Edge AI+ needs a clearance check too, as does the ACEMAGIC AM06 Pro, which runs it at PCIe 3.0 speed. The Apple Mac Studio (M5 Ultra), Mac mini (M5 Pro) and Mac mini (M6) have no M.2 slot, so it does not fit. For the ACEMAGIC AM08 Pro and GMKtec NucBox M5 Plus, we have not confirmed it fits.

Before you buy
Check clearance before buying, because the heatsink adds bulk that some slots may not allow. In slower slots the drive runs at the slot's speed, as on the MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max and ACEMAGIC AM06 Pro. Samsung does not state whether the drive is single-sided.
Common questions
Will it run at full speed in my mini PC?
Full speed needs a PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot. The MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max runs it at PCIe 4.0 speed and the ACEMAGIC AM06 Pro at PCIe 3.0 speed.
Can I use it in a Mac mini?
No. The Apple Mac mini (M5 Pro) and Apple Mac mini (M6) have no M.2 slot, so an M.2 2280 drive has nowhere to go.
Does it come with a heatsink?
Yes, it arrives with a heatsink fitted. That is why clearance needs checking before you buy, for example in the MSI MAX Edge AI+.
