AOC 24E4CV

Part number24E4CV

The short answer

A 24" IPS panel at 1920x1080 and 120 Hz, the AOC 24E4CV is a desk monitor for a mini PC owner with a spare HDMI or DisplayPort output. It also has built-in speakers, so you can skip separate ones for a basic setup.

Specifications

The screen is 24" at 1920x1080, on an IPS panel. The refresh rate is 120 Hz, which is smoother than a basic office display, though you only see it if your mini PC's output and cable carry that signal. Speakers are built in, so sound can come from the monitor itself. Video comes in over HDMI or DisplayPort.

Which mini PCs it fits

A monitor needs a video output on the mini PC that matches one of its inputs, and this one offers HDMI and DisplayPort. It has no USB-C video input, so a machine with only USB-C video out is not a match.

The GMKtec NucBox G3, HP Z2 Mini G1a, Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Gen 5 and MINISFORUM AI X1 Pro each have a matching output, so it fits them. For the ASUS ROG NUC 15 and BOSGAME M5 we have not confirmed it fits, because their HDMI outputs are not confirmed.

Before you buy

AOC does not state the DisplayPort version, HDMI version, USB-C power delivery, Thunderbolt input, built-in KVM switch, daisy chain out, HDR or VESA mount. Before you count on 120 Hz, check that your machine's output can carry it.

Common questions

Can I connect the AOC 24E4CV over USB-C?

No. The AOC 24E4CV has no USB-C video input, only HDMI and DisplayPort, so your mini PC needs one of those two video outputs to drive it.

Does it have built-in speakers?

Yes, the AOC 24E4CV has built-in speakers, so a simple desk setup can work without separate ones. Your mini PC still needs an HDMI or DisplayPort output to feed it.

Will it run at 120 Hz from my mini PC?

It is a 120 Hz monitor at 1920x1080, but AOC does not state the HDMI or DisplayPort version, so we cannot say which connection carries 120 Hz. Check your machine's output.
