Dell UltraSharp U3425WE

Part numberU3425WE

The same part under other regional numbers: V124N, DELL-U3425WE

The short answer

A built-in KVM switch and a Thunderbolt 4 input come with the Dell UltraSharp U3425WE, a 34.1" IPS Black monitor with a 3440x1440 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It suits a mini PC owner who wants one wide desk display that can be shared between machines.

The monitor's 90 W power delivery will not run the mini PC.

Specifications

The 34.1" panel at 3440x1440 gives a wide desktop, and 120 Hz keeps motion smooth. Its USB-C input accepts video and supplies 90 W of power delivery to a machine that can use it. It also has a Thunderbolt 4 upstream input.

The built-in KVM switch lets you share one keyboard and mouse between machines, and the daisy chain output can feed another display. It also has a VESA mount and built-in speakers.

Which mini PCs it fits

A monitor needs a matching video output on the mini PC. This one takes DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, or video over a USB-C or Thunderbolt 4 port.

The Beelink SER8, Dell Pro Max Micro FCM2250, GEEKOM A8 Max and GMKtec EVO-X2 fit. The GMKtec EVO-X3 and BOSGAME M5 fit with a caveat: the monitor's 90 W power delivery will not run them.

We have not confirmed the HDMI outputs on the MINISFORUM AtomMan G7 Pro or MSI MAX Edge AI+, so we have not confirmed it fits them.

Checked against every mini PC sold on amazon.co.uk, from the specifications we hold for each machine.

Before you buy

The 90 W of power delivery will not run the GMKtec EVO-X3 or BOSGAME M5, so plan to power those machines separately.

Dell does not state HDR support or an HDR certification, so do not count on HDR.

Common questions

Can the monitor power my mini PC over USB-C?

Over USB-C it provides 90 W of power delivery, but that will not run the GMKtec EVO-X3 or the BOSGAME M5, so power those machines separately.

Does it have a KVM switch?

Yes, the monitor has a built-in KVM switch, so you can switch one keyboard and mouse between connected machines, and it has Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C inputs for a mini PC.

Does it support HDR?

Dell does not state whether the monitor supports HDR or carries an HDR certification, so we cannot confirm either. If HDR matters to you, treat it as unconfirmed.
