MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED

Part number9S6-3CD79A-001

The same part under other regional numbers: MPG271QRXQDOLED

The short answer

With two HDMI 2.1 inputs and a USB-C port that carries video, the MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED is a 26.5" monitor for a mini PC owner who wants a sharp 2560x1440 picture at 360 Hz. It also takes video over DisplayPort 1.4a, so a mini PC with a matching output can plug straight in.

The monitor's 90 W power delivery will not run the mini PC.

Specifications

The 26.5" QD-OLED panel runs 2560x1440 at 360 Hz. The USB-C input supports DP Alt Mode with 90 W power delivery, so one cable carries the picture and supplies power. The monitor carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and has a VESA mount for an arm or wall bracket.

Which mini PCs it fits

The rule is simple: the mini PC needs a video output this monitor has an input for, meaning HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a or USB-C carrying video. The MINISFORUM MS-02 Ultra, ACEMAGIC AM06 Pro, ASUS ExpertCenter PN65 and Apple Mac Studio (M5 Max) all have an output it accepts. The BOSGAME M5 and GMKtec EVO-X3 connect too, but the monitor's 90 W power delivery will not run either mini PC. For the MINISFORUM AtomMan G7 Pro and MSI MAX Edge AI+, we have not confirmed it fits, because their HDMI outputs are not known.

Checked against every mini PC sold on amazon.co.uk, from the specifications we hold for each machine.

Before you buy

Power delivery tops out at 90 W, so the BOSGAME M5 and GMKtec EVO-X3 still need their own adapter. MSI does not state a Thunderbolt input, built-in KVM, daisy chain output or speakers, and does not separately state HDR support.

Common questions

Can I power my mini PC from the monitor's USB-C port?

The USB-C port supplies 90 W, but that will not run the BOSGAME M5 or the GMKtec EVO-X3, so those machines still need their own power adapter.

Which video inputs does it have?

It has one DisplayPort 1.4a input, two HDMI 2.1 inputs and one USB-C input with DP Alt Mode, so a mini PC with a matching video output can connect.

Can I mount it on an arm or the wall?

Yes. It has a VESA mount, so you can fit a compatible arm or bracket and keep the desk clear for the mini PC. MSI does not state whether it has built-in speakers.
