MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED

Part number9S6-3DD29A-001

The same part under other regional numbers: MPG321URXQDOLED

The short answer

A 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel at 3840x2160 and 240 Hz, the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED suits a mini PC owner who wants a big, sharp, fast desk display and has an output that can drive it. It takes video over HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a or USB-C.

The monitor's 90 W power delivery will not run the mini PC.

Specifications

The 31.5-inch screen is a QD-OLED panel running 3840x2160 at 240 Hz. Inputs are two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4a and one USB-C with DP Alt Mode. That USB-C port also offers 90 W of power delivery, so one cable can carry picture and power. The panel has VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, and it has a VESA mount.

Which mini PCs it fits

The monitor needs a matching video output on the mini PC, and 3840x2160 at 240 Hz needs that output to carry it. The GMKtec NucBox K6, HP Z2 Mini G1a, Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 5 and MINISFORUM MS-02 Ultra fit. The Lenovo ThinkCentre M90q Gen 5, MINISFORUM AI X1 Pro and ACEMAGIC V1 fit with a caveat: 240 Hz at this resolution is not confirmed on their outputs. We have not confirmed it fits the MSI MAX Edge AI+ or the NIMO Mini PC Desktop AI Max+ 395, because their HDMI outputs are not recorded.

Checked against every mini PC sold on amazon.co.uk, from the specifications we hold for each machine.

Before you buy

For some machines above, 240 Hz at this resolution is unconfirmed, so check the output before counting on the full refresh rate. MSI does not state a Thunderbolt input, a built-in KVM switch, daisy chain output or speakers, and does not confirm HDR support beyond that certification.

Common questions

Can I connect it to a mini PC over USB-C?

The monitor has a USB-C video input with 90 W power delivery, so a mini PC USB-C port that carries video can drive it. MSI does not state a Thunderbolt input.

Will it run at 240 Hz on my mini PC?

The panel does 240 Hz at 3840x2160, but the machine's output must carry it. For the Lenovo ThinkCentre M90q Gen 5, MINISFORUM AI X1 Pro and ACEMAGIC V1 that is not confirmed.

Can I put it on a VESA arm?

Yes, it has a VESA mount, so an arm or wall bracket that matches that standard can hold it. MSI does not state whether it has speakers, so plan for separate audio.
