Kingston FURY Impact DDR5-4800 16GB

Part numberKF548S38IB-16

The short answer

Running at 4800 MT/s with CL38 latency, the Kingston FURY Impact is a single 16 GB DDR5 SODIMM module. It suits a mini PC owner whose machine has a DDR5 SODIMM socket and who wants to add or replace memory with one 16 GB stick.

Specifications

This is one module of 16 GB, so a single stick gives you 16 GB in total. It runs at 4800 MT/s with CL38 latency. It is not ECC memory, so look elsewhere if you need error correction. The Kingston part number is KF548S38IB-16, so you can match it exactly when you order.

Which mini PCs it fits

The rule is simple: a DDR5 SODIMM module goes in a DDR5 SODIMM socket. The GMKtec NucBox M6, MINISFORUM AI X1 Pro, ASUS NUC 14 Performance and Beelink GTi14 Ultra fit it. The ACEMAGIC F3A, ASUS ExpertCenter PN65 and Beelink SER8 take it but run it at 4800 MT/s. The ACEMAGIC AM06 Pro takes DDR4, so it does not fit there. The Apple Mac Studio (M5 Max) and BMAX MaxMini B4 Ultra have soldered memory and no socket. We have not confirmed the fit for the ACEMAGIC AM08 Pro or Beelink EQi13, because we do not know whether their memory is soldered.

Checked against every mini PC sold on amazon.co.uk, from the specifications we hold for each machine.

Fits (11)

Fits, with a note (13)

Not confirmed (1)

  • Beelink EQi13: Not confirmed: no record of whether this machine's memory is soldered.

Does not fit (18)

  • ACEMAGIC S1: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Apple Mac mini (M5 Pro): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Apple Mac mini (M6): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Apple Mac Studio (M5 Max): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink EQ14: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQi12: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQR5: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQR6: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink ME mini: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • BOSGAME M5: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GEEKOM A9 Mega: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec EVO-X2: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec M8: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec NucBox G10: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • GMKtec NucBox K13: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • HP Z2 Mini G1a: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 6: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.

Before you buy

On the machines with a caveat, the module runs at 4800 MT/s, so check your machine's memory speed first. Confirm that your mini PC has a DDR5 SODIMM socket and that its memory is not soldered, since soldered machines have nowhere to put the module.

Common questions

Will it work in a mini PC that uses DDR4?

No. This is a DDR5 SODIMM module, so it needs a DDR5 SODIMM socket. The ACEMAGIC AM06 Pro, for example, takes DDR4, not DDR5, so this module does not fit it.

Can I add it to a mini PC with soldered memory?

No. Soldered memory leaves no socket for a module. The Apple Mac Studio (M5 Max) and BMAX MaxMini B4 Ultra are examples where this module does not fit.

What speed does it run at?

It is a 4800 MT/s module with CL38 latency. The ACEMAGIC F3A, ASUS ExpertCenter PN65 and Beelink SER8 run it at 4800 MT/s in those machines.
