Kingston FURY Impact DDR5-4800 8GB

Part numberKF548S38IB-8

The short answer

One module, 8 GB, DDR5 SODIMM: that is the whole of this Kingston FURY Impact, part number KF548S38IB-8. It suits a mini PC owner with a free DDR5 SODIMM socket who needs a modest amount of memory. It runs at 4800 MT/s with CL38 latency and has no ECC.

Specifications

This is a single 8 GB module, so the 8 GB total comes from one stick and takes one socket. It runs at 4800 MT/s with CL38 latency. It is ordinary non-ECC memory in the SODIMM size used by socketed mini PCs, and it is DDR5, so it will not go into a DDR4 machine.

Which mini PCs it fits

A DDR5 SODIMM module goes in a DDR5 SODIMM socket, so the question is whether your machine has one. It fits the ASUS NUC 14 Pro, Beelink GTi14 Ultra, GEEKOM A8 Max and GMKtec NucBox K10. It also fits the Lenovo ThinkCentre M75q Gen 5, ACEMAGIC F3A and ASUS ExpertCenter PN65, which run it at 4800 MT/s.

It does not fit the GMKtec NucBox K13, HP Z2 Mini G1a or Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 6, because their memory is soldered and there is no socket. For the Beelink EQi13 and MINISFORUM AtomMan G1 Pro, we have not confirmed the fit.

Checked against every mini PC sold on amazon.co.uk, from the specifications we hold for each machine.

Fits (11)

Fits, with a note (13)

Not confirmed (1)

  • Beelink EQi13: Not confirmed: no record of whether this machine's memory is soldered.

Does not fit (18)

  • ACEMAGIC S1: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Apple Mac mini (M5 Pro): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Apple Mac mini (M6): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Apple Mac Studio (M5 Max): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink EQ14: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQi12: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQR5: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQR6: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink ME mini: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • BOSGAME M5: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GEEKOM A9 Mega: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec EVO-X2: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec M8: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec NucBox G10: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • GMKtec NucBox K13: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • HP Z2 Mini G1a: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 6: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.

Before you buy

Check that your mini PC has a DDR5 SODIMM socket before buying, because soldered-memory machines cannot take this module. Where the fit comes with a caveat, the module runs at 4800 MT/s. For the Beelink EQi13 and MINISFORUM AtomMan G1 Pro, check the memory type and maximum capacity yourself.

Common questions

Will it work in a mini PC with soldered memory?

No. Where memory is soldered to the board, as on the GMKtec NucBox K13, HP Z2 Mini G1a and Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 6, there is no socket to put a module in.

Is this ECC memory?

No. The module is non-ECC, running at 4800 MT/s with CL38 latency, so it is ordinary DDR5 SODIMM memory for a socketed mini PC.

How much memory does one module give?

One module gives 8 GB in total, from a single 8 GB DDR5 SODIMM stick, so it suits a machine where you want to fill one socket.
