Kingston FURY Impact DDR5-5600 32GB

Part numberKF556S40IB-32

The short answer

A mini PC with a DDR5 SODIMM socket can take this Kingston FURY Impact, a single 32 GB module running at 5600 MT/s with CL40 latency. It is non-ECC memory, so it suits machines that use ordinary DDR5.

Specifications

All 32 GB comes on a single module, so one socket carries all of it. Speed is 5600 MT/s with CL40 latency, the figures to compare with what your machine supports. The module is DDR5 SODIMM, the generation and form factor that decide whether it matches your sockets. It is non-ECC.

Which mini PCs it fits

The rule is simple: a DDR5 SODIMM module goes in a DDR5 SODIMM socket. It fits the GMKtec NucBox K8 Plus, HP Z2 Mini G9, Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Gen 5 and MINISFORUM AI X1 Pro. It fits the ASUS ROG NUC 16, Dell Pro Max Micro FCM2250 and HP Z2 Mini G1i with a caveat: it runs at 5600 MT/s in them. It does not fit the Beelink ME mini, GEEKOM A9 Mega or GMKtec EVO-X2, because their memory is soldered and there is no socket. For the MINISFORUM AtomMan G1 Pro and ACEMAGIC AM08 Pro, we have not confirmed it fits.

Checked against every mini PC sold on amazon.co.uk, from the specifications we hold for each machine.

Fits, with a note (5)

Not confirmed (1)

  • Beelink EQi13: Not confirmed: no record of whether this machine's memory is soldered.

Does not fit (18)

  • ACEMAGIC S1: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Apple Mac mini (M5 Pro): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Apple Mac mini (M6): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Apple Mac Studio (M5 Max): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink EQ14: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQi12: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQR5: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQR6: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink ME mini: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • BOSGAME M5: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GEEKOM A9 Mega: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec EVO-X2: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec M8: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec NucBox G10: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • GMKtec NucBox K13: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • HP Z2 Mini G1a: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 6: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.

Before you buy

Before buying, confirm your machine has a DDR5 SODIMM socket at all, because models with soldered memory cannot take a module. In the ASUS ROG NUC 16, Dell Pro Max Micro FCM2250 and HP Z2 Mini G1i it runs at 5600 MT/s. For machines we have not confirmed, check the maximum memory and whether the memory is soldered.

Common questions

Will it work in a mini PC with soldered memory?

No. The Beelink ME mini, GEEKOM A9 Mega and GMKtec EVO-X2 have memory soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put this module in.

Is this one stick or two?

It is one module. The kit holds a single 32 GB DDR5 SODIMM stick, so the full 32 GB sits in one socket rather than being split across two.

Is this ECC memory?

No, it is non-ECC DDR5. Use it in a machine that takes standard DDR5 SODIMM memory rather than one that requires ECC modules.
