Kingston ValueRAM DDR5-5600 SODIMM 16GB

Part numberKVR56S46BS8-16

The short answer

Non-ECC memory in a single stick is what the Kingston ValueRAM DDR5-5600 SODIMM 16GB amounts to: one 16 GB DDR5 SODIMM module, part number KVR56S46BS8-16, running at 5600 MT/s with CL46 latency. It suits a mini PC owner whose machine has a DDR5 SODIMM socket and who wants to add or replace 16 GB.

Specifications

At 16 GB in one module, it uses a single socket. It runs at 5600 MT/s with CL46 latency; that is also the speed it runs at in the machines with a caveat. It is non-ECC memory, so it does not add error correction. The part number to match is KVR56S46BS8-16.

Which mini PCs it fits

The rule is simple: a DDR5 SODIMM module goes in a DDR5 SODIMM socket. The ASUS ROG NUC 15, Beelink GTi14 Ultra, GEEKOM A8 Max and GMKtec K12 all fit. The ASUS ROG NUC 16, Dell Pro Max Micro FCM2250 and HP Z2 Mini G1i fit with a caveat: the module runs at 5600 MT/s in each of them. The GMKtec G11 Plus does not fit because it takes DDR4, and the HP Z2 Mini G1a and Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 6 do not fit because their memory is soldered, so there is no socket.

Fits, with a note (5)

Not confirmed (1)

  • Beelink EQi13: Not confirmed: no record of whether this machine's memory is soldered.

Does not fit (18)

  • ACEMAGIC S1: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Apple Mac mini (M5 Pro): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Apple Mac mini (M6): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Apple Mac Studio (M5 Max): The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink EQ14: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQi12: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQR5: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • Beelink EQR6: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Beelink ME mini: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • BOSGAME M5: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GEEKOM A9 Mega: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec EVO-X2: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec M8: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • GMKtec NucBox G10: This machine takes DDR4, not DDR5.
  • GMKtec NucBox K13: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • HP Z2 Mini G1a: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 6: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.
  • MINISFORUM MS-S1 Max: The memory is soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put a module in.

Before you buy

Check the socket before anything else: a machine with soldered memory has nowhere to put this module. The caveat machines run it at 5600 MT/s. We have not confirmed the fit for the ACEMAGIC AM08 Pro or Beelink EQi13, because we do not know whether their memory is soldered.

Common questions

Will it work in a mini PC that uses DDR4?

No. A DDR5 SODIMM module only goes in a DDR5 SODIMM socket, and the GMKtec G11 Plus, for example, takes DDR4, so this module does not fit that machine.

Does it have ECC?

No. The Kingston ValueRAM DDR5-5600 SODIMM 16GB is non-ECC, a single 16 GB module at 5600 MT/s with CL46 latency, so it does not add error correction.

Can I use it in a mini PC with soldered memory?

No. The HP Z2 Mini G1a and Lenovo ThinkCentre neo 50q Gen 6 have memory soldered to the board, so there is no socket to put this module in.
